All Vlek's artwork is great, but this printwork is really something special. The music on this album is just as smooth, crazy, tropical, 80's-TV style as the cover stories suggest. I like it a lot.
Favorite track: A3 - Fabiola Riddim.
“After his well acclaimed soundtrack lp on Hivern Discs, Brussels based producer Lawrence Le Doux is returning to homebase Vlek for his next offering. And what a project it has become: Le Doux, heads first, dived deep into the Belgian national history of electronic music, and came up with a sampler covering the various fields the Belgians have explored over the last 30 years.
From digi dub over simple drum computer house to one-man industrial cassettes: 'Host' has it all.”
takes me back to the days of labels like mille plateaux, a touch of class, and the heyday of minimal electronic music in general. that's a very good thing. forward thinking, beautiful, without being too up it's own ass. vlek, and sagat in particular, have a serious fan right here. Alland Byallo
